Jimmy Brannon is the proud father of Patrick
and besides his beloved son, has one other child, Sarah, and a step-daughter, Keli. The editor of his family’s newspaper, The Bourbon County Citizen, where he has worked since childhood,
Jimmy has received several awards for his writing including the article about his son’s battle with cancer which is
reprinted in this book and which won top awards from the Kentucky Press Association. He also received recognition for an article
he wrote as a witness to the first lethal injection execution in the state of Kentucky in addition to many other newspaper
articles. A graduate of the University of Kentucky
and the Kentucky College of Law where he served on the Kentucky Law Journal and Moot Court Board, Jimmy practices law in Paris,
Kentucky. As a lawyer he has successfully tried several murder cases in addition to his regular practice which includes such
things as bankruptcies, divorces and criminal law. He
was four times elected to the Paris, Kentucky City Commission a position he held for eight years. He was a member of the Kentucky Bicentennial Commission, a statewide commission appointed by the Governor of Kentucky
to organize the state’s 200th birthday in 1992 which left as its legacy, The Kentucky Encyclopedia.
